Plastic Surgery Is A No-Go For These Celebrities

For many celebrities, finding the Fountain of Youth under a plastic surgeon’s knife is their go-to strategy to stay young and relevant in the industry. But not all stars agree that messing with natural looks is the right way to go about aging.

For Meryl Streep, it’s all about embracing aging and change, while Pink enjoys the fact that her kids have her nose and the lines around her mouth are from years of laughter. They’re not the only Hollywood A-listers, though. Keep clicking and see who else has said no to a surgical Fountain of Youth.

For Pretty Woman actress Julia Roberts, cosmetic surgery takes away facial expression, something she very much wants to have later in life. The actress wants her face to tell a story and not one that says she goes to a plastic surgeon for some tune-ups every so once in a while.

Robert’s told Elle, “I want my kids to know when I’m [mad], when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story … and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office. By Hollywood standards, I guess I’ve already taken a big risk in not having had a facelift.”

For an Academy Award-winning actress, staying young and on top of their game would most likely be the most important thing, right? Wrong! For Meryl Streep, embracing old age is way more preferable than staying young with the help of plastic surgery.

During an interview with Good Housekeeping, the actress explained her stance on plastic surgery, saying, “When I see it in people I meet, it’s like an interruption in communication with them…I just don’t get it. You have to embrace getting older. Life is precious, and when you’ve lost a lot of people, you realize each day is a gift.”

Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore is one of those people blessed with good genes, aging beyond gracefully to the point of looking youthful. It might be one reason why the actress has said no to plastic surgery throughout the years. But, according to Moore, that isn’t why she’s forgone the knife.

In truth, she thinks plastic surgery makes people look weird. During an interview with Allure, the Oscar winner said, “I hate to condemn people for doing it, but I don’t believe it makes people look better…When you look at somebody who’s had their face altered in some way, it just looks weird.”

As one of Britain’s most acclaimed actresses, it’s amazing how Emma Thompson has steered clear of plastic surgery all of these years, especially with the industry’s pressure to stay youthful. As it turns out, the actress actually has a very solid stance on surgery — she thinks it’s unnatural. During an interview with Hello Magazine, Thompson got very candid on her stance.

She said, “It’s mad. It’s not a normal thing to do, and the culture that we’ve created that says it’s normal is not normal. It’s chronically unhealthy, and there’s this very serious side to all of that because we’re going to end up with this sort of ‘super-culture’…”

When one is as beautiful as actress Salma Hayek, it’s probably not the hardest thing in the world to say no to cosmetic surgery. That’s most likely why she’s never gone under the knife for facial injections. In fact, Hayek doesn’t really understand the purpose of plastic surgery, especially in young girls.

Hayek told InStyle about her stance on surgeries, stating, “No surgical tweaks. No Botox either. I think it is terrible, these girls in their late 20s injecting their faces and lips. One told me, ‘If I kill my muscles now, I’ll never get wrinkles.’ Can you imagine?”

She’ll cut, color, and change her hair, but Pink can’t get behind the plastic surgery craze. The pop singer likes how she “has her kids’ nose” and that the lines on her face are from years of laughter. And while those are both great reasons not to go under the knife, Pink’s main reason is facial movement.

On her Twitter, Pink wrote, “Continued note to self: Every once in a while you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it. I just can’t.”

For a lot of parents, being a good influence for their children is the main priority. It’s actually one reason why actress Amanda Peet forgoes doing anything substantially altering to her face; she doesn’t want her actions to impact her daughters’ thoughts on beauty.

During an interview on SiriusXM’s Conversations with Maria Menounos, Peet explained her reasoning, saying, “I’ve never gotten Botox or fillers. I think it has a lot to do with having two girls…I’ve certainly spent a lot of time and money doing other stuff, and I certainly am vain!”

During an interview with The Telegraph, the actress took a deep-dive into her views, saying, “It goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up and what I consider to be natural beauty. I will never give in. I am an actress; I don’t want to freeze the expression of my face.”

While talking to Yahoo! Beauty, the actress said, “I just have kept reminding myself that beauty really is as beauty does… Aging is natural, and that’s going to happen to all of us … I just want to always look like myself, even if that’s an older version of myself. I think when you do too much of that cosmetic stuff, you become somebody else in a way.”

Some people might be whole-heartedly against plastic surgery, but Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster isn’t necessarily one of them. While she doesn’t like the idea of going under the knife herself, Foster has nothing against surgery for other people. It’s just that she doesn’t want a botched job!

While talking with More Magazine, Foster said, “I don’t have anything against it for other people. Whatever they want to do, I’m fine with it. For me, it’s really a self-image thing. Like, I’d rather have somebody go, ‘Wow, that girl has a bad nose’ than, ‘Wow, that girl has a bad nose job.'”

Interestingly, the actress has thought about plastic surgery once or twice throughout her career. Alas, she is now in a pretty solid anti-surgical procedures position. Honestly, she wouldn’t look the same without her saucy wrinkles and laugh and smile lines.

Academy Award-winning Annie Hall actress Diane Keaton doesn’t think there is any escape from aging, even with the advancements of plastic surgery. In that respect, the actress has opted to forego the knife and age just as nature intended, without fillers and injections.

When Page Six asked about her stance on cosmetic surgery, Keaton had a stellar response, saying, “My feeling is that everybody has their hands and their hands are always at the face, so if the hands don’t match the face, it’s a little weird. My hands are the hands of the age I am. They’ve been through a lot, and they look like it!”

Jennifer Aniston’s beauty has been under speculation for quite some time. But, to a lot of people’s disbelief, the actress is actually just that naturally beautiful! She hasn’t had had any cosmetic surgeries done to her face, thinking it makes a person seem insecure in their own skin.

During an interview with InStyle, Aniston set the record straight, saying, “I am grateful to learn from [others] mistakes because I am not injecting into my face…I see them, and my heart breaks…They are trying to stop the clock, and all you can see is an insecure person who won’t let themselves just age.”

During an interview with Andy Cohen, Shields admitted to her fear, saying, “I’m afraid of it. But I also want to [do] everything I can to just look my best and feel my best.” For the model, feeling her best comes from a non-invasive body contouring treatment called WarmSculpting, a system that eliminates fat cells. Besides, she’s afraid surgery would have her looking like the Joker!

As a model for the cosmetic brand Lancôme, Isabella Rossellini somehow got away with never going under a plastic surgeon’s knife, syringe, or other surgery apparatus. But, there is a reason for it. According to Rossellini, she is very afraid of “operations” of any kind, and she can’t justify getting Botox when she eats organic.

During an interview with Daily Mail, Rossellini said, “I eat organic food not to look younger, but to preserve my health…I cannot reconcile eating organic food and doing Botox. Some of my friends do yoga, eat organic, avoid alcohol, but they do Botox. I say, ‘how can you live with that? It’s a total contradiction!’”

While Alien actress Sigourney Weaver isn’t a fan of plastic surgery for herself, she believes everyone should be entitled to what makes them feel good, confident, and secure in their own skin. For her, that’s aging gracefully with a face that has lines, wisdom, and a lot of good stories to tell.

During an interview with the Independent, Weaver spoke about cosmetic procedures, saying, “Why would you want to look like you haven’t lived? Why would you want your face to be frozen? I don’t get it. On the other hand, I think every woman should do what makes them feel right.”
